Hello and welcome to our blog!
Here at the Region V Public Health Training Center (RVPHTC) we like to innovate, meaning creating new and engaging training materials that are data-driven and based on input from you, the public health workforce. A frequently requested option is for educational materials to come in multiple formats, lengths, and modalities. One result of this feedback: our new blog!
This blog will share a wide variety of topics, from collaborations with local and regional partners, to topical public health themes and more, including information and updates about the RVPHTC and field of public health. Our goal is to share informational material in an easily digestible manner. We’ll also be linking relevant resources within each blog post, making it simple to pursue further information about a topic.
At our core, the RVPHTC is focused on strengthening the skills of the current and future public health workforce through assessment, continuing education, and student development. The blog will act as an extension of that, enhancing the RVPHTCs role in a network of ten regional Public Health Training Centers that serve as the country’s most comprehensive resource for public health workforce development.
Here is a sample of some topics we plan to cover in our first year of the blog:
- Racial / Health Equity
- Health Communications
- Social Determinants of Health
- Financial Management for Health Organizations
- Community Health Workers
- And more!
