Great Lakes Public Health Training Center
Health Literacy in ColumbUS starts with US
As we draw our second health literacy conference to a close, we will work with attendees on the action items they developed during our conference in the following months to assist public health-focused organizations in becoming more health literate while improving community engagement and access to care. Striving to provide educational opportunities resulting in calls to action is key to reducing barriers and creating more health literate organizations.
Exciting news!
We were recently awarded $3.7 million from the Health Resources and Services Administration! This funding will allow us to continue our public health workforce development initiatives from September 30, 2026 to September 29, 2030.
With the new funding cycle, we’re rebranding! Our new name is the Great Lakes Public Health Training Center. We’ll continue serving Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin to increase the supply of a high-quality public health workforce, especially for rural and medically vulnerable communities.
